STEP 1. Find out if you qualify
The first step to obtaining an MMJ card is finding out if you have a qualifying reason to be a candidate for a medical marijuana card. Click here to see a list of qualifying conditions.
STEP 2. Find a Medical Marijuana Evaluator
Next, find a doctor or qualified evaluator to write you a recommendation for cannabis based on your medical qualification. Documentation can be very helpful in the process so if you have your medical records or official records documenting your condition be sure to bring them along. They will fill out a Certification Form and submit to the state. This visit can cost anywhere from $150 - $350 depending on the certification doctor you choose. |
STEP 3. Submit your application
You can submit your own application here. Or the doctor recommending you for a medical marijuana card can submit your application for you, either way the processing and turnaround time is usually around 10-14 business days.
After the processing and approval of your application, you will receive your medical marijuana card in the mail in 7 to 10 days. If you’re not approved, you will not have to pay the fee. STEP 4. Enjoy the benefits
